The government will offer the following subsidies for installing solar panels under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme

• Subsidy for residential households
• Rs. 30,000/- per kW up to 2 kW
• Rs. 18,000/- per kW for additional capacity up to 3 kW
• The Total Subsidy for systems larger than 3 kW is capped at Rs 78,000.

Group Housing Societies (GHS) and Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) are eligible for a subsidy of Rs. 18,000 per kilowatt (kW) for shared facilities, such as 500 kW electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The cost of this subsidy is Rs. 3 per kW per residence. Any individual rooftop solar plants installed by GHS or RWA residents are included in the overall amount.
